I am one of those guys that ALWAYS roots for David when he goes up against Goliath. I love the little guys, and it was amazing what Laudrup did with Swansea after Rodgers left. He won them a DAMN trophy. But no, once they begin to STRUGGLE for the FIRST time in the league...then it's time for him to go. It is this absolute idiocy that really irks me and makes me want Swansea to actually get relegated.
Swansea have probably been playing the best football of the teams that have been struggling. Bony has looked VERY good, but unfortunately Michu has not been having the same season that he had last time. But the problem is not Laudrup...Swansea have just been unlucky. A lot of the matches they have lost have been close and just been a case of them not really taking their chances. So now, do Swansea feel they can pry Lippi or Cappello to thus improve Swansea? Because I really do not know which coach can come to Swansea and improve upon what Laudrup has one....and I am talking about a coach that SWANSEA can convince. We're not talking about AC Milan here....SWANSEA.
Laudrup should feel very hard done by. I think they would have just about beaten relegation but the real problem was perhaps Laudrup wanting those funds for transfers. He deserves every penny. He's made Swansea into an attractive team to watch an extracted EVERY juice he can from the players he has...but one can only do so much. There comes a time when you just need BETTER players that can BETTER execute the type of strategy that you have. Simple as. Swansea will and SHOULD regret this.
