Will Gundogan Sign Extension with Dortmund....AND SHOULD HE???? Hmmmmm!

Dortmund must not lose this player. DORMUND. MUST. NOT. LOSE. THIS PLAYER. But...BUT....I am afraid that there comes a time where people must face reality. It's a brave, strange new world and I think that my dear friend Gundogan may be looking for that "big" club as so many players of his age and skill are. Gotze? Lewandowski? It's a trend, and I am afraid that it may continue.

Gundogan was one of the unlikely stars for Dortmund when Gotze was out injured, and was one of the bright spots in that Champions League final. Up until his injury, he showed what a great midfield talent he was, with great passing, energy, CONTROL AND UNDERSTANDING of how to dominate the toughest position in football. That is why Dortmund are pressing hard for him to try and sign that extension.

I think Ilkay must be smart and really try and not play the long game. When I say it, it's the gamble. Gotze made a gamble that he could go into Pep's Bayern and hold down a place. He has gone there and is arguably one of the PLAYERS OF THE SEASON, in any league. But it does not always work that way as Kagawa has shown, in a MUCH weaker team. Gundogan is not really a player that I will put money on to be a success ANYWHERE, and I am actually shocked by how much Gotze has improved since joining Bayern. But, I only deal with what IS and not what MIGHT.

Gundogan I don't believe will sign that contract. It's a different age, the MONEY age of football and the reason why the sport is being plagued. These young dudes want to fly before they can crawl, and therefore teams like Dortmund who can't match Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern for cash and prestige will always be the victims of their young talent leaving them.

But Gundogan could VERY easily go the way of Kagawa and actually hamper his career if he chooses a that "big" club that he fails to make an impact with and is stuck on the bench and depreciates over time and ends up becoming...SHIT.
