Deja-Vu for Madrid, But Can They Survive Their German Bayern Nightmare This Time in the Champions League?
I can still see that penalty that Flop Ronaldo took. As he ran up and Mourinho was on his knees, I really just expected that ball to end up in the net. After all, he had already scored two goals in the game. But, he not only missed...that ball should be arriving in Venus very soon. Madrid have not enjoyed playing Bayern, with that whole Beast, Bestia blah blah....ONE TEAM HAS ROBBEN, AND THE OTHER DOESN'T! Let's discuss....
Robben Hood is a player that should be in any team. He is the only dude RIGHT NOW, who I want to give the ball to when my team is down. He is the only player with the balls to make things happen, AGAINST ANYBODY, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE. Now, the question is whether Ancelotti, Ramos and Pepe can stop him. I won't put money on it, because if Reus is running you ragged like so...you bet YOUR DUTCH MONEY that Robben will SLAY you.
Bayern have many killer weapons, and are a team on a mission. No team has retained the Champions League, and true great units want to etch their names in history and be remembered. Don't forget, Ribery cannot be ignored because he's not been playing up to his normal level. And of course...the ever-reliable BART SIMPSON (Phillip Lahm)
Cristiano needs to prove himself. He has never really sealed the deal. When he won the Champions League...he DID also miss a penalty after scoring the opening goal. Since then, there was the other final that he got ran over by Eto'o and Messi. So in short, he has never risen to the challenge in the way Robben did last season. He is the superstar....I think...and Ancelotti will need him to ACTUALLY show up and you know, put away a penalty....that would help.
My eyes are on Gareth Bale. I've given up on having any hope with Cristiano doing it on his own. He needs help, and Bale was the PERFECT buy for this team. That may be the difference in this match, as this is BIG time now, and Bale is a player who I know has the heart and confidence to show up when the bright lights are on. I have confidence, but it's his first season going up against some veterans in this situation. He may choke under the weight and pressure.
This will be a great game. I know it, you know it and we all know it. The way Madrid play and the way we KNOW Bayern can play when their backs are to the wall, can make this a classic. I hope Madrid score first, forcing Bayern to really come out, because that would make for a great exciting game with SO MANY goalscorers being on the pitch. As good as Benzema has been, Mandzukic keeps on popping off with important goals that CANNOT be overlooked. But I worry about that Madrid defense. If they are not on point, THEY WILL NOT HOLD THIS BAYERN TEAM.
