ENTER BALE THE BEAST, AS THE WELSH DRAGON SLAYS BARCELONA IN COPA DEL REY VICTORY
The Welshman has ARRIVED, and he is just warming up. Many questions were asked when Bale seemed to be a bit awkward when he first played. But since he has his fitness and sharpness, Bale is showing why he IS THE TRUE STAR instead of Cristiano. THAT goal is the reason why so much was paid for him, and might be the final piece missing that Real need to finally land the Champions League.
The match pretty much showed a total gulf in philosophies and strategies. One team went on the break, and broke QUICK. The other team kept hold of the ball and looked for the right pass, having more patience in their build-up. Guess which strategy worked?
But when Bartra equalized, it seemed that this would head for full-time. The match needed SOMEONE to rise up, and make a name for themselves. Throughout, Madrid kept having breakaways and chances to score. The defense of Barcelona was just awful and they could have EASILY let in about three or four goals. Benzema had about two great chances. But it called for something special, someone to take the bull by the horn and DELIVER. It's what Bale kept on doing for Spurs, but this time, he did it and got rewarded for it with his first major trophy.
The demise of Barcelona and their incessant need to hold onto their passing game is a discussion we can talk about in another article. But this was really the Bale night. A player who many thought was all hype, and not worth all the praise and talk. That goal he scored is something Cristiano has NEVER done. The beauty about that goal was how it showed the confidence, bravery and individualism shown by Bale.
The next stop is trying to catch Atletico who refuse to let-up, and are a few wins away from a shock victory. After that, it's the Bayern game. THIS is the perfect preparation for Madrid as they take on the might of Bayern who roared into the German Cup Final. I don't know what will happen, so don't dare ask me.
BUT...A BEAST HAS BEEN BORN. AND I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE BALE ON THAT PITCH, AND HOPEFULLY HE SHOWS THE SAME BRAVERY AGAINST BAYERN THAT HE DID AGAINST BARCELONA IN THIS FINAL.
