A NEW LOOK DOMESTIC-BASED HOLLAND WORLD CUP SQUAD NAMED BY VAN GAAL, WITH HOPES RESTING ON ROBBEN

Taking a look at the Dutch squad and it's sad just how far they have fallen. Normally, you would see SNIPERS and great superstars in this team. But Van Gaal has opted for domestic unknown players with the hopes resting on the VERY underrated Arjen Robben.

I can't place a lot of hope on Holland. A lot of these players will be playing in the World Cup for the FIRST TIME, and they will have to be taken through the trial of fire by the more experienced Spanish team. You really can't see Holland winning that game, and a draw is a possibility. But even beyond that, with a team that is this inexperienced....you just can't give them the vote of confidence against Brazil, Argentina or Germany.

BUT, Holland do have one of the most deadly weapons in the world and his name is Robben Hood. If there's one guy to believe in then it's this guy. He would have no problem whatsoever carrying the team on his shoulders and taking the pressure to deliver for his country. Somehow, Van Gaal will NEED Robben to put in the performance of his career if Holland are to advance from the group and go as far as the semis or Final.

The Dutch, as history has shown, can be EXCELLENT as they were in Euro 2000, or they can be complete dog shit as they were in Euro 2012. No other team in the world can be THAT good and THAT bad. It's a weird thing that nobody can figure out. How can you lose in THREE finals? Two of which were back-to-back?

They won't make the Final. This is about building for the future and giving Hiddink a good platform to launch a good bid in the France Euros and World Cup in Russia. Van Gaal though won't just want to make up those numbers. Holland have to at least atone for the ridiculous display two years ago in Ukraine and show some pride for what is one of the neutral's favourite teams to watch.
