IMMOBILE MAY BE THE WISEST OPTION TO START WITH FOR ITALY AND PRANDELLI
Italy embark on yet another World Cup campaign and you can bet YOUR ASS and bowl of pasta that there will be the customary emotional story that follows the Italian journey. The FIRST thing that Prandelli needs to worry about is of course...who should play alongside Balotelli. Love him or hate him, Balotelli is TOO GREAT a talent not to start with. So it's either going to be Rossi, Cerci, Insigne or Destro....or the blonde dude from Torino who scored quite a few goals for the little Torino.
Unless on the last day, Luca Toni (WHO SHOULD BE IN THAT SQUAD) scores three and Carlito scored four, Immobile would have finished the season as the top scorer.
People, keep in mind that Immobile plays for...Torino. Not Juventus, Milan or Roma....TORINO. To finish as the top scorer is an incredible achievement. And, I have been watching this guy play and he is a natural goalscorer who can score a VARIETY of goals. So this ain't some Giroud clone....this is a STRIKER which is a position that seems to be scarce nowadays.
My argument for why he should start? It's simple. Destro does not strike me of being up to it at International level, Insigne should be played as the ATTACKING midfielder, so does Cerci, Cassano time has past and Rossi has not played enough games to START, and needs to be eased into the tournament. That leaves the only man capable of leading the line....and he is more mobile than immobile. Prandelli must make that decision and go with him and REWARD a guy being top scorer for a mid-table club.
