This pretty much breaking news....so want to see the full reason for this, but if this IS true, then perhaps De Bruyne is not as dumb as I once thought. This superb news for Hecking, for Wolfsburg and also for Bundesliga. Also, there's that little thing about the Champions League and having De Bruyne in there will maintain their very outside and dark horse threat in the competition.
I just think De Bruyne finally weighed things up. He obviously considered the move, which is still dumb, but seeing both sides, he saw the sense in remaining with a club that has brought his career to life and is also going places. Heading over to City would have probably seen him be shoved on the bench, and it would be back to square one, just like when he was at Chelsea.
Waiting to hear what his full statement is, because City would have really poured in all the cheddar to get him because Navas is not really the same silky dude that he was before. Especially when you see how City play with the ball always going out wide to be put in for Aguero or cut back for Yaya and Silva, you can see why they want him. Still....stay where you are, if the fit is good and you are at a club that makes you LOOK GOOD.
Good on you De Bruyne. And with the Champions League, could be your chance to show the world that you are Belgium's best attacking player with Hazard not looking too great and trying to actually locate his soul and identity....
