Mourinho and Chelsea can't ASSUME Pedro is the ANSWER to their Season

So it is official. The hijack is complete. Mourinho has managed to put one up on his old master. The apprentice has finally become the master as Vader once said. Well....not really, but this is a buy that has me scratching my head on two fronts. At the first is how United let this one slip away when they were tracking him for the past few weeks and how he actually fits into the very defensive system that My Boy has down in the Bridge.

Mario Gotze should take not of how to take some ownership over your career. Instead of playing the waiting
game and trying in vain to break into the team and actually play some football, Pedro took matters into his own hands and forced Enrique's hand. Now Barcelona are screwed if Neymar or the Cannibal goes down, and Pedro can finally have the chance to prove to the world that he's more than just a sidekick. He is coming into a Chelsea team that desperately need some assistance and spark up front....but when I see the style of Pedro and how he fit into Barcelona, it is at odds with what Mourinho does. So my worry is, could this have just been a purchase to stick one up on a rival, like the Fabregas one which may eventually turn out to be a dud if he keeps bricking it up?

A lot of eyes have to be on United, just to briefly turn attentions away from the Bridge. I assumed this was a done deal, because the only club that was linked with Pedro for the past week or two were United. Even after that Super Cup, United fans on twitter were already getting themselves ready to welcome in the Spaniard. So, I am not sure what really went down. You have to look at the man who is supposed to close these deals and that is Woodward, who obviously did not have enough groove and panache to lure Pedro. As people have mentioned, he actually DID go to Spain, and surely he must have been there to get some ink onto paper and not to chillout on some of the beaches.

As for Chelsea and how it fits into Mourinho's philosophy....I just don't think that he fits. It's pretty much that plain and simple. Pedro is a very Spanish kind of player, who is very skillful and works best in an attacking system where there are many options available. He was never a great superstar, but just a very good player. If he was going to United then I would have said of course, that is a damn good signing because he can work well with the passing game that United have. With Chelsea, you are rolling into the defensive house, and that means his game will have to readjust quite a bit to accommodate the new environment that he will find himself in.

He could do well, but as well as he may do, he is not the kind of player that can be the definitive point of Chelsea's season. They need to be better as a whole team because if they are not...nobody is getting any candy this Christmas. Pedro is just a very important cog in a wheel and is NOT a main player. But, he was never given an opportunity to be  star and always had to work extra harder just to get himself noticed. Now, he is a wanted man, and he would have had even more spotlight upon him had he joined United where he would have easily been one of the best players there. I say that would have been a better move for him, but if he can fit and click with Mourinho, then he has an even better chance of expanding on his personal trophy cabinet.
