Why would Neymar Join Man United......NOW?!!!!

Ha. Wow. I can't believe that I am even having to write an article on this...but anyways, I shall humor you all.

For some inexplicable reason, there is a transfer link that now exists between Neymar making a possible move to Man United. Yes, the same Man United that could not land Pedro and just got into fourth last season. So the question that I think needs to be asked is why Neymar would even entertain a move to Man United in the first place?

Let's look at the no. Erm, Barcelona are on whole other level to Man United and the chances of Neymar getting medals and trophies is far more likely with the Catalans than with the Reds. Neymar seems to be good friends with Messi and unfortunately, he adores and even worships that guy. So why would he want to leave that friendship and also have the experience of playing with one of the best footballers in the world?

Neymar is guaranteed a first team spot, which Pedro was not. There isn't an issue of playing time and just warming the bench. If he's fit, he plays. There's not question or debate about that. He would still be more than guaranteed a place at United, but if he's already on the pitch with one of the best clubs in the world...what reason is there to even move away from there?

From the looks of it, Neymar is enjoying himself. Again, you compare his body language to that of Pedro, it's like Earth and Saturn. Neymar is always smiling, joking around, having fun on instagram and is playing with that smile on his face. At the moment, unless things change, he is enjoying being part of the most lethal attack in club football. There are just so many reasons for him NOT to go to United, that it's hard to think of anything to support his move.

However....there is one though...one slight possible thing that could make him perhaps give it a thought....

The Neymar that we see for Brazil is NOT the one that's in Barcelona. In Spain, he plays to Messi's fiddle. He has a very specific role out on the wing and he fulfills that. Messi is the main man who can do what he wants whilst he and the Cannibal just have to fit into what the Argentine wants. It's the Messi show and any player that comes to the Nou Camp or Messi Camp, knows that. In Brazil though, Neymar is the captain, Neymar is by some way THE best player, and Neymar IS the man. It's not even an opinion or a view to say that he plays far better when he's given the free-role to do what he wants as opposed to just being a winger. He has the mentality to be the main man on the pitch and can deliver when it matters on the big stage.

If he was to go to United, and I am REALLY talking hypothetically here...he would be the main man. You would now actually see the Neymar in Brazil. I'm not saying that this bothers Neymar now that he is not given that Brazilian freedom, but it would at least make him think that by going to United, he would be the out and out superstar. Any footballer who is as good and as ambitious as Neymar will surely, whether consciously or subconsciously, want to be that main dude in the team and that leader who has all the responsibility. THAT is what superstars strive on. Robben wakes up every day with a big fat smile on his face because he knows that without him, Bayern are not as lethal but if he is on that pitch, they all look to him to take them to the Promised Land. It's a great feeling to have knowing that you have that much power and influence.

Neymar is going nowhere. If he is going to go, he isn't going to Man United anytime soon. But, it's just something to think about, of the kind of situation he would find himself in if he was to go to United, and he could very easily surpass Thierry Henry as the best and most gifted footballer that the Premiership has ever seen.
