Bayern Looking to Dominate Future with Muller and Boateng Signing that Contract
Not such good news for the rest of the Bundesliga. Two of Bayern's best players, Boateng and Muller have put their pen where their mouth is, and signed for the long term. 2021, to be exact, where we hope to finally have teleportation sorted...hopefully.
I've viewed Muller as a really underrated player who doesn't get the praise he deserves. When you look at how many G's he's put up for Germany in the World Cup at such a young age and how he's been a vital part for Bayern, you would think more would bemade of him. But nope, the media doesn't work that way. They have their favorites and they don't widen their lenses and look at all aspects of football.
By him being part of Bayern till 2021, that shows he's on that train to be a legend at the club. Also, with Ribery and Robben eventually retiring, Bayern have this youngster who can still get better. He's a very smart player who just knows where to be at the right time.
Nothing flashy, no stepovers, just pure effectiveness and getting it done. It would have been disastrous if he'd left Bayern for Man United, as this is not the kind of player you want to lose. In those big games when the pressure cooker is turned up to twenty, this is the kind of guy who can deliver for you. And you would assume Bayern will be in many Champions League matches, and thus, they'll need the Muller-Meister.
Boateng, for the past two to three years has been one of the best central defenders in the world. Moving from the right back position and honing his skill in the central area, he's proven that he's an enforcer. His performance in the World Cup, especially the way in which he completely shut down Messi in the final, showed why he is of the very best. Bayern had to keep him. You can't win anything without a good defense, and every formidable backline has that truly dependable and assured central-defender. That forms the backbone of your team, and that's where you build up from.
So yep, other Bundesliga teams will need to step up their game and hold onto their stars if they want to pry that Bundesliga off of Bayern. It's not always about buying the new star every summer like that fool Perez does with Madrid. You need to try and find players who you can keep at the club for the long term, and hopefully see them retire wearing that one badge.
