Cristiano and co send out a message with THUMPING win over Galatasaray
Well, after a slow start to the season and a HORRID performance against Villareal, Ancelotti seemed to take heed of my words and employed a far more counter attacking system. It resulted in a devastating display in which Galatasary were cut open. But, the scoreline was not a reflection of the whole match.
It's the age old thing of taking your chances. Yilmaz had a lot of great chances and it was a mixture of great keeping from Lopez as well as just BAD finishing. When you don't take your chances against a good team, more times than not, YOU LOSE. From a defensive mistake, the kid Isco scored a great goal and it was all downhill from there.
I just imagined Bale in this system, with the ball being moved quickly and sharply and only crucial pinpoint passes getting made. I mean, you know things are going well when BENZEMA actually scores. That in itself is a rarity which should be savored. All in all, it was just a showcase of excellent tactical preparation by the Italian man, Ancelotti.
It's a strong message. To go to TURKEY, and score six goals when it could have definitely been more means that they mean business. Juventus will find it tough if they play against THE MADRID I SAW TONIGHT, not the one in Villareal. I think it's all clear to see for Ancelotti that his team is built to be more defensive and MUST AVOID, an open warfare kind of situation. Their defenders are just not good enough to cope with chances coming from ALL angles.
Yes, my main man that I like to hate on scored his hat-trick and I applaud him for doing so. But, will he score when it matters? When it's that semi-final and the game is not going Madrid's way, and the opposition is much tougher...will he be able to GET THAT GOAL? I think not, but maybe Cristiano this year under the very likeable Ancelotti may prove this very staunch critic of his wrong.
