Klopp's Finalists Are Back to do battle....can Dortmund make the final step AND GET THAT CL? I BELIEVE IN THEM!!!
Against all odds and expectations, from most others not me, Dortmund got to the final beating the always overhyped Madrid and were narrowly beaten in one of the closest fought finals in recent memory in the Champions League. The boys in yellow and black felt like crap and Klopp was right, "the result was shit." But they proved to the world that they are ONE OF THE BEST TEAMS IN EUROPE. Their devastating attacking football was and IS amazing to watch and who know what would have happened if Goetze played in that match?
So look, Goetze has decided to follow the dumb modern footballer model and move to the "bigger" club. But Aubameyang and Mikhatarayn are two players who are looking rather tasty but more importantly, their FOUR GOAL semi-final hero is still at the club. With Lewandowski and Reus being the creative think-tank, Dortmund can easily do it all again.
It's one heck of a group. Benitez is a very good coach and despite Cavani wanting some of the Eiffel baguette bread, they still have Higuain and the Mad Max mohawk wearing Hamsik. They are a good team who look solid and will be hard to beat. But, if Dortmund play their game and impose their personality, there really is no answer to them. Too young, too quick, too sharp, too hungry and too clinical. Their destruction of Hamburg lead to their coach being given the pink slip and thrown out the back door.
I have been preaching about these guys for years and I just love seeing them play. It really comes down to Weidenfeller pulling out the great saves he came up with last year as well as Hummels cutting out the mistakes and being a consistent rock alongside Subotic. Getting to the final really requires the ENTIRE team being in harmony, and a great attack also needs a great defence.
Looking forward to the match tonight and hoping that we see Klopp's men in the final again, with maybe a deja-vu occurrence of meeting Bayern or probably a Juventus or even Madrid. Whoever they come up against, I BELIEVE in these young boys. Klopp's coaching method and his ability to keep costs down should be championed all over the world. Every victory for Dortmund is a victory for REAL football.
