Quagliarella opts to stay and fight for place....but is this a WISE decision?
Ever since his quite remarkable chip at the 2010 World Cup, I have been a staunch admirer of Fabio. He is different. The goals he has scored is testament to the kind of alternative brain he has when playing football. I have always felt he deserved more of a chance but Conte has gone with rotation. Can one blame Antonio when he has two back to back trophies to show for it?
With Tevez AND Llorente coming in, it seems Fabio will be even further down the pecking order. So it would seem that he would be on his way out. But according to reports, he is staying put and wants to fight for his place. You can see the affinity he has for Conte and it's east to see why players love him. I, however, think that Fabio can still have a place in an Italy squad that is playing...OSVALDO! Lord help me....
My advice would be for Fabio to make that move. He will NOT get enough game time to impress Prandelli if he remains at Juventus. For a talent such as himself, moving to somewhere like Napoli or even Inter would be a great move for him. The longer he remains on the bench, the harder it will be for him to rediscover his touch. At 30, time is of the essence. Something does make me think though, Quagliarella has given up trying to play for Italy or impress anyone. He just wants to play his football whenever he can.
So it's really just down to him....
