Didier and Franck Inspire France to an ALMIGHTY Comeback
Wow, wow and WOW. This is something that I did NOT expect at all. Just read before writing this that there was a poll in France with an overwhelming 84% that had given up on the French team before the game. I was very much part of that demographic and did not see it happening. I just could not envision France forming the kind of performance needed to score TWO goals, let alone THREE. But for some reason, Didier put out a team that gave the performance of their lives. France have NEVER played good and been so in sync since Master Zidane left. I couldn't believe I was watching the same team who struggled to score against Belarus on the SAME ground. And how was this made possible? THE COACH ENSURING HIS JEWEL ROSE TO THE OCCASION.
Great coaches inspire great players. Deschamps knew he needed Ribery to MAN up, and he made sure he did.
Ribery I believe sealed the deal as to why he should win whatever individual award that there is. He showed up. He played. He dribbled. He created. He inspired. He did EVERYTHING that was asked for him, and just like clockwork, it ended up in France ripping Ukraine apart. Ribery just being on the pitch and doing what he was doing, got the crowd going and raised the levels of every single player. THAT is what Zidane did. When Zidane played well, suddenly everyone else around him followed his lead and played to their potentials. I just cannot even comprehend an argument for there being a more COMPLETE footballer in the world right now. Because my friends, THERE IS NOT.
Who would have thought Thuram would score two goals in that semi against Croatia? Those odds would have been fantastic, and I wish I had seen the future and placed a bet. Don't think anyone would have believe France would have won by three goals and SAKHO would supply two of those goals. That just signified what France achieved. The belief permeated throughout the team, and Sakho must be given a million baguettes for rising up and DELIVERING for his country when it was most needed. Even after scoring, he ensured the defensive line did their job, screaming orders to his fellow men to hold their positions for free-kicks.
Deschamps has to be overjoyed with the COMPLETE performance that France achieved. Their task was not easy at all. You have to remember that this was a French side that were two down and KNOWN to struggle at home against teams like Belarus. They were not accustomed to scoring many goals or winning many games. So it was such a surprise that they delivered the goods, and produce something that NOBODY could have foreseen.
I said in my video that if Didier can somehow get this team to produce that kind of effort and execution in every match in Brazil, then they WILL be a very dangerous team. They just have far too many good players to ignore. If Pogba and Ribery, their two stars, can produce A-Class performances and the others can follow, France may just very well be VERY dark horses. But for now, well done to France and bonne chance pour le Coupe du Monde en Brasil.
