The Void of Alex Ferguson

So the Premiership is right into the mix....and....six teams can win it? Yeah, something is wrong there. Usually, with EVERY season that comes, everyone knows that if you finish ABOVE United, you will win the league. They were the team to beat, and they were the ones that set the trend for how you win the Premiership. But, Ferguson has now FINALLY called it a day....and the void that he's left is gaping wide for all to see. The man has turned the Premiership into a free-for-all!

Moyes has been giving the keys to the United closet....and maybe he is thinking of giving the keys back.

He has had a very difficult start and there are those like me who don't think the great Manchester United will finish in the top four.
Let me say that again....MANCHESTER UNITED MAY NOT FINISH IN THE TOP FOUR OF THE PREMIERSHIP!

That's the reality here. United have not lost so many games this early in the season, and they are yet to play the other challengers to their crown who are performing better than them. This all leads to the conclusion that finishing in the top four will be pretty damn hard. Yes, tt is true that with Van Persie, all is possible. With someone who is the most accurate finisher in the world, you will always have a chance no matter how well or badly you play. But I just don't have a good feeling that this will be a season that United will want to ever remember.

As I said, there are maybe six teams that can WIN this thing and that is what Ferguson's absence has shown. With how close things are at the table and WILL BE, people are beginning to realize just what the incredible job Ferguson did. Because to be able to be so dominant for so long in a league with very competitive teams, is just a great testament to the man. The funny thing though is without Mr. Fergie, this may go down to be one of the most exciting and closest Premierships in history. The reason for that is I just do not see that good old United consistency with any of the teams. As good as the challengers are, none are perfect and all have their issues that need resolving. Whether its Arsenal's lack of a squad, or Chelsea's proven striker or even City's hot and cold performances...there is nothing that jumps out as CLEAR title favourites.

We will see how it all ends up. Perhaps, Moyes will shock us all and deliver the title to United again and really find that consistency. Perhaps. But let's all sit back and applaud Ferguson for the legacy he shall leave with the Premiership FOR ALL TIME. Game recognizes game....and Ferguson has a WHOLE lot of that!
