I would like to apologize in advance of what I am about to say...but it NEEDS to be said. It's really sad and unfortunate that the best sport in the world....has the WORST organization running it. I suppose the whole thing with balance and equilibrium that we need in life. Let's be straight here, FIFA SUCK.....they STINK....and the decisions they make are idiotic, stupid and void of any real and proper thought. READ ON, DAMN IT!!!
Erm, the LAST time that I checked, I don't believe either team has even SNIFFED a World semi-final or even a quarter. To have these teams seeded because they have been playing well recently is just a joke.
We also have Belgium who have a great squad, played excellently, but have no business in being in Pot 1 and mark my words...they probably will not make it out of their group.
Then, we go on to Pot 4. My Italian brothers signaled to me of how Italy were in Pot 4. I refused to believe it, but it turned out to be true. Somehow, Colombia and....Switzerland are of a higher level than Italy or NETHERLANDS?! Because of friendlies?! Wow....
This all stems from FIFA's stupid ranking system that is flawed. It awards point for.....friendlies. Let me say that again, in case you missed the wonderful idiocy....FIFA AWARD POINTS THAT CAN AFFECT A WORLD CUP DRAW FOR FRIENDLIES?!!!! It's laughable and incredible. I just cannot believe FIFA are allowed to do this and teams can't complain about this. A friendly is a friendly. An exhibition match that is supposed to be a barometer for a manager to test out players and different systems. So how should that then count towards rankings or how good a team is, IF THE BEST POSSIBLE TEAM IS NOT PLAYING FOR NINETY MINUTES?!!!
Okay, let me just cool down a little bit. FIFA, please use your brains and make the World Cup seedings only be done by how well a team has done in previous tournaments, and also taking World Cup wins into consideration. Keep your ranking system if you like it so much, but when the World Cup rolls by, take into account what nations of done at previous World Cups. Remember kids, form is temporary and class is permanent. Italy, no matter what dips they have, WILL ALWAYS compete at these tournaments and will ALWAYS be a threat. Belgium and Colombia are flavors of the month and I don't expect them to really do much at the World Cup. Don't be surprised if Netherlands......who I just remembered were THE BLOODY FINALISTS IN THE LAST WORLD CUP and Italy get further than Belgium and Colombia.
Finally I would like to say that Blatter and all his moronic fellows in suits should all get put in a jet, and jettisoned to Pluto, and kept in a Plutonian cage and fed only frozen eggs. I don't want them making anymore decisions. They screwed up with booking players for taking off their shirt when they score, they screwed up with having players to get off the pitch even after standing up after being treated, and they have now screwed up the World Cup draw meaning we could see a great team going out in the groups.
