Zlatan is ripping apart the French League, and as long as they ALLOW him in that league, he will continue to tear the shit out of it. PSG have that league on lockdown, so we all know what the time is, and that time is for PSG to win the Champions League. They have the team, they don't have the coach, and they have the star. That star can be excused for International failure, but to REALLY be remembered, he NEEDS this ultimate club glory.
With the teams that are left in the Champions League; Bayern are the team to beat, with Madrid probably being equipped to finally win it. Then you have Messi and his Barcelona. In that contingent, PSG HAVE to be included.
With Cavani coming into the team, they are only stronger. But the MAIN element is Ibrahimovic who is DOING MORE than daring to Zlatan, and scoring RIDICULOUS goals. That is what teams will have to fear, because if Ibrahimovic is ON IT, then that is a serious problem for any team that they face. The thing though is about Ibra's career and how he will be remembered. As I said, he unfortunately is playing in the weakest Swedish team I have EVER seen. One can only have hoped he was around during the mid to late nineties, with a younger Larsson and an all round better team.
So, something that I don't normally do, I will give Ibra a pass for not winning a Euro or a World Cup. It ain't something I can do for Cristiano or Messi who have FAR better teams.
All Ibra needs is to win the Champions League, being the STAR that brought it home, then we can really discuss where he lands amongst the greatest to have ever played the game.
In my view, he is not as good a footballer as THE FOUR HORSEMEN....Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo, Zidane. However, can anyone please tell me of a SINGLE player who has scored MORE memorable goals than Zlatan? We're talking bicycle kicks from the halfway line at an angle, finishes with his heel, SMACKERS from seventy yards, volleys, half-volleys....you can't take that away from him.
PSG CAN win the Champions League, but when it comes to those big games in the semis or final, the man on the bench becomes INCREASINGLY important. Blanc is not a great coach and I don't have any faith in him being able to make astute tactical changes during a match to win the game. So, this all lies with Ibrahimovic to rise above it and DELIVER for his team and lead them to the land of the true.
