One element that Bayern have been missing is that guy who keeps on threading balls through for Muller, Goetze and Robben. A guy who can run right into the heart of defences and cause mayhem. Thiago and Kroos do their damage from deep in midfield, but Ribery is the guy who cuts in from the wing and plays that diagonal pass into the box.
It's fucking impossible for a player to consistently be bringing it every single week. But with the Bundesliga won, they have Dortmund waiting for them in the cup final and now the Champions League. THIS is where Ribery will need to extract all his juices and get back to being the LINK to which Bayern obtain most of their goals.
Tonight, I am expecting Madrid to be weary of Ribery on the wing and watch for the moves he makes. Marking him tight is not advisable, as he is tricky enough to draw fouls and pull defenders out of position. Madrid will have to just be smart, let him have the ball and anticipate his movements.
Ribery NEEDS to come alive.....
