Rooney May Not Be Fit for Champions League against Bayern....erm....AND?!

So there is some hoopla over whether or not Rooney will be fit to play against Bayern. After all, he is the "star", the guy that always shows up in big matches, one of the greatest players in the world, someone who you can depend on to always get it done...either for club or for country.

Yeah...and my name is Zeus.

Rooney is an overrated player. He IS good and one of England's best players, but what is that really saying? United can EASILY cope without him. It would be a loss, because he is one of United's best players, but the loss of RVP is a far bigger miss than Rooney would be.

A Welbeck-Hernandez strikeforce would not be too bad. Speed, agility and guile that would make the Bayern defense have to think a little bit more. Rooney just isn't that major star. Never has been and he never will be. He hasn't done enough off his own back to be scared if he doesn't play. I mean, I would LOVE for someone to tell me exactly what he did in that first leg when United played Bayern. I know what Welbeck did, as well as Kagawa....and Vidic. Rooney, did not really make that big of an impact...ESPECIALLY when you are paying him all that loot every damn week!

For Moyes, the league is done and it's about resting players when they face Newcastle. All eyes are on that second leg, and he needs to start planning now for a team that will not include Rooney.

BOTH Rooney and RVP not being able to play does not help matters a lot for United, but Bayern will also be missing two key players...but their firing-line will be very much intact and ready to do some damage. I just am not part of this whole hysterical reaction to whether or not the "great" Wayne Rooney will be able to play because we can be SO sure that he will actually bother to show up and either score a goal or setup a goal for United. Just look at the tapes and the footage and tell me in how many big Champions League games Rooney has really shone.

I'm waiting...
