He's not a great footballer. Never has been and he NEVER will. But, football is all about effectiveness. Some very skillful footballers are CRAP when in a match context, while some others like Theo who may not be the most gifted technically, works VERY well if deployed in the right manner. And with Ozil injured, and Wenger being his stubborn self....it all falls on Walcott to give Arsenal that SPARK.
Right now, Arsenal are just too predictable when they attack. Teams know what they do and Wenger has NO interest whatsoever in changing. Right now, the closest thing in attack to what Walcott gives is Chamberlain, but he is not as fast as Theo and relies more on his skill on the ball than his speed.
With Walcott back in the team, Arsenal have one of the fastest footballers in the Premiership and this allows for that killer ball that beats the defense to be played. It is right now a ploy that Arsenal just can't put into practice without someone with the attributes of Theo.
But with Chelsea looking like they mean business and the squad that City have, Walcott has got to bring something new to his game and EVOLVE. IF, this kid can actually improve his ability of playing football and do things when he has the ball rather than relying on speed, then Arsenal will have probably the most dangerous player in the league. Because speed, especially in the Premiership is a killer asset, but when you mix that with a footballing brain and knowing when to use it to your advantage, how many teams will be able to stop you?
It's now to you Theo...change up your game and help Arsenal at LEAST make this league campaign somewhat of a contest...
