Giovinco HAD to Leave Juventus, but is it Too Late and is Toronto the right Joint?

GIO. Finally....he has been freed. I have preached, hashtagged and CAMPAIGNED for his freedom, and finally all my hard work has finally bore fruit.

But erm...Toronto...where they play hockey.....is that a club that is fit for the great and untapped talent of Gio?

The MLS is not exactly a league known for the pinnacle of football. You all know how (lowly) I rate Ligue 1, but I'm not even sure how to even begin to rate the MLS.

So no, Gio is far too good for ANY team in the MLS. This is a player who if given the chance can be ONE of the most explosive players in the world. But the Italian system just don't like to nurture young talent. There seems to be a culture of trusting who you know, without risking the energy and exuberance of youth.

But......

There is an opportunity here for Vinco. If he can REALLY go crazy in this league, and take Toronto to greater heights, would it be fair for Conte to completely ignore him based on the league and opposition that he goes against?

When going into a World Cup or the Euros, you need ALL sorts of players, Because different kinds of players allow you to hold onto a lead, or get yourselves back in the game or kill off a game. There really is no sense in substituting a player for one who has similar attributes. It's about chopping and changing and forcing your opponent to never know where you are going to strike next.

Italy do NOT have a player that plays like Vinco. They don't have someone with his stature, dribbling, and speed. That is a weapon that you NEED in every tournament you go to. It is essential, and you can't board the plane without it.

So the move to Canada can get Gio playing time so that he can get back into shape and really show how good he can be, just like what he did for Parma.

Perhaps, the open space given in the MLS could work in Gio's favour and really allow him to show his skills, regain his confidence and just get back to enjoying his football. No point in thinking about the dark times he has had at his beloved club, sleeping on the bench. It's about playing football and forcing Conte to really make that choice of whether to really look at ALL OPTIONS when picking his team for the Euros....this is assuming Gio does rip it up in the MLS.
