PSG get Barcelona - Champions League Draw Reaction
Damn. Not an ideal draw for PSG. After the BIG BOY effort against Chelsea, the football gods should have been kind and shoved them Monaco. But it is the attacking demon of Barcelona.....but could they stand a chance?
PSG are pretty much the same team that lost on away goals to Barcelona those years ago. David Luiz is not really a dude I would class as an upgrade. So really, if we go by logic, then Barcelona should win this match. The records favour the Catalan cats, and they are the best looking team in the world right now.
That's logic.....but I use street logic.
Street logic flips the script. Why are Barcelona automatically thought to be winners? Is there not an advantage in always losing to a team, learning from your mistakes and coming with some new booty to beat them?
I've said it many times before that PSG man-for-man probably have the best team in the world. Hence why they will rarely get thrashed or lose by two goals. Maybe some of that has to go to Blanc who is really good on preaching and teaching defence....but attack is where he is still a bit clueless.
So street logic states that over these two legs, anything can happen. PSG CAN beat Barcelona, and the Nou Camp boys know that. As bad as the draw is for PSG, Enrique would have been more than happy to get most of the teams over PSG.
As for Barcelona, it's about trusting the talent, which has gotten them this far already and made them
kill teams. Just like that Neymar G against the Paris club at the Nou Camp this season, Barcelona have individuals that can do magical things. And if Barcelona are to win, it won't be tactical, it will be whether the three-headed South American dragon can click, because when they do, no defence can stop them.
Ibra's rep yet again is on the line. I personally would not play him in either leg as they are better without him. But he is the "star" and has to play. For the second leg, if PSG go in with a lead, then they will need their big man to have a bigger influence and really try and make things happen more often in the match.
All said and done, the deciding factor are those three. If Blanc can keep them quiet, PSG go through, if not....then we all know how this tale will end.
