Ooooookay, so the "big" news is that Depay is now moving onto bigger and better things with the double-chinned one and the prawn-sandwiched arena of Old Trafford. And of course, this means TREBLE. That's not me, that is United fans on twitter who are treating this purchase like the First Coming.
I have seen some clips of Depay on the tube at PSV and at the World Cup, I liked his football. Forward-thinking, and unlike Carrick, a player that can drive forward with the ball and pop off a shot. He will be a very good ADDITION to United, but my goodness, to now suddenly say that is enough to take Mourinho's crown? Or to even SNIFF the Champions League semis, is ludacris! Yes, the rapper!
With a name like Memphis, let's hope he has better dance skills than Elvis, and can moonwalk some G's for United when they need them. It will be fun to see him in the Premiership and see him grow under Van Gaal, who knows how to nurture those folk as he did with the excellent Ajax of the nineties. But, United need to get realistic and get a lot more bodies to compliment Depay, because he alone won't be enough to deliver a trophy.
Show me some defenders, throw in a striker who actually puts the ball in the net, unlike the Colombian and the other Dutchman and only then will I even begin to take United seriously and consider them being a challenge to the far more complete machine that is Chelsea.
Memphis.....stage is yours hombre.
