AC Milan are DISGRACED again by Napoli...at HOME!!!!!

"Teams now look forward to coming to the San Siro..."

This statement by the commentator said it all. For Milan, the San Siro was more than fortress. It was a safe haven and a place that teams FEARED coming to, because of the atmosphere and the might of the team they were about to face.

Not any more.

These days, Milan might as well be playing away from home because teams now come to the San Siro expecting to get three points and are disappointed if they leave with a draw. To say Milan are hopeless would not be doing justice to the situation they now find themselves in. Let me put it this way; AC Milan are now officially a mid-table team with little to no hope of even DREAMING about being in the top six. That's right, the mighty AC Milan who are a club used to challenging for the Scudetto now struggle to even get in the top six.

Let's play....THE BLAME GAME!

The first place that anyone looks is obviously at the manager. When Mihaijlovic was hired, I for one wasn't jumping up with joy at the appointment. I've always felt that you need a certain style and class to coach Milan and take them back to greatness. Sinisa is a very far way away from Ancelotti in that regard. He may have done well for Sampdoria, but how many times have we seen managers do well at smaller clubs and fail when they take on the higher pressure big time?

Milan have only had one really good performance...well, one really good half. That was the first forty-five against Udinese. In that same game Udinese almost came back to take a point. Apart from that, they haven't looked great. It's either been abject and clueless or average. Other teams are already in working order and have figured out their strategy for the season whilst Milan are back at the drawing and have no idea what they are doing. You have to put the manager to task for that, as he is the one responsible for getting his players to play in a well-defined system. That hasn't happened yet.

But, to cut him some slack...the players that Milan have are close to atrocious. I think Bacca and Adriano are two good strikers who are still figuring out how to play with one another. But the rest of the team wouldn't even be hired to sweep the floor back in the day for Milan. The midfield is non-existent and the defense is like water with Zapata having to almost do every one's job. Mihaijlovic just doesn't have the quality running through the entire team to make any headlines this season. You need ELEVEN players, not just two really good strikers.

However, to get anally violated at the cribb by three goals by a Napoli team who have a new manager and system, is unacceptable. It's disgraceful and just serves as a gloomy reminder of how far Milan have fallen. The great Baresi was in the crowd, and I don't even want to know what would have been going through his mind watching Milan run around like aimless goons. Napoli were just so much better than them that it should have been five or six. Napoli may have themselves just put their foot off the gas, knowing there was little point adding more insult to a very deep injury.

Mihaijlovic may be sacked...but then who comes in? Is there time to get a new team which Milan need? Is there money in the club? What is Galliani's role in all of this and how is he not pushing to bring in more players rather than just two strikers? Surely the belief wasn't that two finishers was enough to get in the top six without a midfield and a fragile defense?

Question. I could care less about the answers now, but Milan are continuing to descend down into the realms of obscurity and it's a damn shame.
