Cesc "Brick" Fabregas is REALLY Pissing Me off Now!!!

What happened to him?

Seriously. Cesc has gone from one of the most creative passers of the ball to a guy who strolls around, falls over, occasionally passes the ball then falls over and earns a cheque at the end of it all. And maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but I think I see a bit of a beer belly trying to poke out.

I was one of the very few that didn't think he deserved to be offloaded by Barcelona. In the games that I saw of him, he was great at finding the attackers with his expert eye for a pass and from what I saw, he was just as important in that midfield as Xavi and Iniesta were. But in truth, I didn't watch a plethora of La Liga matches, just dipping in and out as you would a Dorito chip in BBQ sauce. For those that did, they did comment on how Fabregas faded away as the season went on, and just wasn't as effective anymore. And when you have your own fans booing you and calling for your substitution, that is when you know that leaving ought to be a real consideration.

Since this season has started, Fabregas has put up a fantastic case to be at the very head of my Brick Academy of the world's most garbage footballers. His lack of a performance has been one of the main things that have been bringing down Chelsea and it hasn't improved with us already going past the middle of October. This has to be a major worry for Mourinho, because without him, Chelsea are toothless and are as creative as a plank of eroded wood.

What one must now think of is a possible remedy to help Fabregas out of this rut he's in. Does he need to be dropped? Different role to play in the team? Possibly work on some fitness? Or, and this could be the real scary part, perhaps he is on a decline and there is nothing you can do to stop it?

Playing Fabregas in a more advanced role just behind Costa won't work, as he doesn't have the ability to play there. When you look at Reus, Muller and David Silva, they are either very good and quick on the ball or extremely good at finding space and picking up the ball in dangerous spaces. That is not Fabregas's game, as he is a player who prefers to be deeper and find his range in the same way as Pirlo does. These kinds of players are those who are tasked with controlling the game, rather than being the attacking elements around the danger area of the 18 yard box.

The latter is what I really think is happening. If you look at how he was playing toward the end of his Barcelona time and now for Chelsea this season, the guy has probably lost his mojo. These things happen with footballers, and once it does and it's been successfully diagnosed, then there is nothing you can do about it. Just look at Van Persie, who was one of the best finishers in the world at a point. Then he just hit a brick wall and descended into complete awfulness, and is now considered one of the best bricks that money can buy. Mourinho has to be mindful that Fabregas could be on this slide, and if he is and he wants to keep his job, it's time to go on the manhunt for another creative player.

And can someone please sort out the beer bellies I am seeing in this Chelsea team?
