Gundogan Would be INSANE to Leave Dortmund Now

There is talk within some circles that Gundogan may be on his way out of Dortmund, with Liverpool being a possible destination because of Klopp and the great relationship that the two have. But for someone with his amazing talents, there are more teams who want get in the mix and acquire someone who is one of the best central midfielders in the world right now.

Ilkay...don't you DARE leave Dortmund now! It would be an idiotic move, especially with how well he and the team are playing right now!

Dortmund last season around this time were battling relegation. Results were not going their way, and Klopp's insistence to play the same way resulted in team from all corners of the Bundesliga beating them. But even through this very dour period, Gundogan was a bright spark. He was that player that despite Dortmund losing, always looked good. He wasn't fit enough for the entire season to really help the team, and was very unfortunate to miss out on the World Cup.

With Tuchel in charge, Gundogan has shot right up the list in the central-midfield category. I cannot name anyone better than him in this position. But players like Verratti, Modric and Iniesta are all on his level, and this is a very small club of the very best central midfielders in the world. We're talking Tier One and elite.

His quality of passing, vision, ability to find space and football intelligence are all at an extremely high level. The way he reads the game, and gets Dortmund going is great to watch. So why the hell would he want to leave when all is well?

You can be an amazing player who if you were to move to a another club, with different players, you will suddenly not be as effective. Dortmund are a far better team than Liverpool and Man United, both clubs who want his signature. Gundogan going to either one of those teams would make him easily the best player, and he will now have to take on a lot of responsibility, maybe too much. Juventus are a very good team, but they are very different to Dortmund. Juve are more balanced, whereas Dortmund are more attacking and like to always move forward playing a quicker game.

It would be foolish for Gundogan to mess with something that's good so far. Dortmund should really end up at least in the top four, and then they will be a serious threat in the Champions League if they add more names to their squad. The way in which Gundogan plays fits perfectly with Tuchel's philosophy and he's on the same wavelength as the other players. If he continues on, he can keep on improving just like how Pogba has kept elevating his game at Juventus.

It's about finding the right team, not cashing that fat cheque...
