Diego Costa Has Decided to Wake Up and Remember how to Play

I don't know what fountain that Costa drank from, or what extra training regimes he did or perhaps how many visits to Buddha he made; but he is a man transformed. Once a brick, now he is a man transformed and is the one leading Chelsea away from their horrendous season.

But how did this truly come to be?

We have to revert back to his greatness, Mourinho and the whole fiasco that occurred between him and the players. It's a story that we're still waiting on, but one thing is for sure, the players did not play for their manager and Costa was one of the main culprits of this. He kept drifting out in the wing, playing like crap, falling over, begging for penalties and tried to fight everyone from the referee to the ballboy. He displayed nothing more than being a bona-fide brick.

Now as soon as Mourinho left, he has miraculously found his form? It's not even a case of Hiddink forcing him to stay in the middle. The amount of work he is putting in is incredible. He is pacing up and down like a maniac, and playing with a kind of passion and energy that I didn't see in all the months that Mourinho was in charge this season. He is reminding people why he needs to be put in that conversation of being one of the best strikers in the world.

I won't put him there yet, because these have only been a few games. But the way in which he's been playing, you are seeing why he was so coveted. The kind of aggression to his play, being direct and fighting for every inch is what gives defenders nightmares. Also, having several screws loose seems to help because when he decides to not dive for a penalty, he's a madman and it takes a hell of a lot to get the ball off of him. It's the kind of player that every manager dreams of having. Like a Carlos Tevez, but a more psychotic version.

Chelsea's path to top four seems pretty impossible. There is too much ground to make up, and the team has not yet been functioning well enough. They should have lost to Everton, but escaped with a draw, and as of now, every point helps with relegation being that distant but noticeable threat. If they have any chance though of trying to get into those higher positions, then they will definitely need this kind of Costa. They looked useless without him against United, but when he's in the team, Chelsea are very dangerous in the penalty box.

He just needs to take his medication before each game.
