The Decline of Cristiano/Cristina/The Plucked Eyebrow?

Are we witnessing the end of Cristiano? Has this man finally dropped out of relevancy in world football? Can we now stop putting Cristiano in the category of one of the world's best football players?

The reality in previous years, is that Cristiano has only been of any note because of his high volume of goals. He's been a goalscorer and that is it. He offers nothing else to a football match. This is not the Man United era Cristiano who was a counter-attacking beast. You remember that guy? Who could go past people? Shoot from anywhere on the pitch and was the best free-kick taker in the world?

Well, the Cristiano that keeps getting shoved in our faces is the one who merely scores tap-ins. Albeit, a multitude of them as well as penalties, but surely there is far more to being an elite footballer than that? However, that's not the issue. Fair enough, a great goalscorer who breaks all these records. I gave him his dues for that, but I also said and warned him that if the doesn't keep scoring goals, he would literally be useless and be exposed for the world to see.

He is now running into that problem that every goalscorer comes to eventually. You can't score goals all the time. But in the case of someone like Weah or Ronaldo, they had more to their game than just goals. These were very good players and a joy to watch. Cristina is not easy on the eye, unless you're female and like plucked eyebrows. So without his goals, there is nothing else to applaud him for or give him praise.

If we are in a situation where he can't score one-on-ones, he is being served up chances and he's messing them up, this could very well be the decline of the most overrated footballer we've seen. If Cristiano is smart and he knows he doesn't possess that goalscoring touch anymore, then he needs to really get those plane tickets to America and start thinking about life after football. He doesn't want a situation where he has a season where he hardly scores any goals, the crowd starts to boo him and his stock goes down with people questioning whether he even deserves to be playing at such a high level.

Personally, I don't know what talents Cristiano has outside of football. I doubt he can hold a scene in a movie, not sure about any musical talents, and I have no idea what having muscles will give you. But if Beckham can be living it large, a far inferior footballer to Cristiano, then I suppose there is life after football for him. He just needs to hire Beckham's marketing manager and earn those cheques off his image, and his underwear.

Ah, the mllienial footballer, where playing the game and promoting yourself in pants go hand-in-hand.

Maybe this could be one big overreaction and next game, Cristiano scores six goals. Then it's back to normal of him being considered one of the greatest players, and all that BS.
