Robben Reminded People, He's Still a Killer App

"Y'all know the name."

Quality will always be quality and can never fade. No matter how old a person gets. That magic that you are born with stays with you forever. My short friend Maradona, even at his age right now is technically better than over half of the much younger players that are in the game right now.

So when we talk about Robben Hood, the Dutch marksman and one of the most unique wingers that football has ever seen, people need to respect and appreciate what he is capable of and how he can affect the game when he decides to. His goal against Juventus that should have ended the tie as a contest for Bayern, was a G that this Dutch amigo has scored a billion times. That is the sign of true greatness, where everyone knows exactly what you're going to do but there is little they can do to stop it.

He always manages to execute.

Throughout the game, Robben showed again why Bayern's Champions League success will be dependent on him. Because even despite his age, the incredible balance and ability he has on the ball is amazing. And with age comes wisdom and the ability to not allow your game to be predicated on the youthful gift of speed and acceleration. Robben through his experience still manages to find his space, and range in order to execute his trademark goal.

Bayern are by no means a one-man team. That would be a greater insult than calling Cristiano culturally relevant to the world of football. The Bavarian fraternity have many amazing players. Lewandowski might just be the most complete striker in the world, Muller is criminally underrated and is a player who always shows up for the big games, and you've got Douglas Costa who is a kindly reminder that Brazil remains the true home of the art that is dribbling.

Despite all of that, Robben is that icing on the cake. He's the key, the final cog needed to complete the contraption. He is the kind of player who can deliver the equalizer to keep Bayern alive when they desperately are chasing a game. And he's proven that when the game is tied, the palms get sweaty and the nerves truly rack up, he's got the will and the ability to score the G to win the game.

All eyes are set on Barcelona and rightly so. But for the very reason why people feel Barcelona may make history again by retaining the Champions League, due to the sheer talent of their front three; the same can be said for Bayern who have a weapon just as potent and powerful.
