Roma's HORRENDOUS Finishing Cost them Against Madrid

I don't think I have ever seen a professional team in a such a high-profile match produce such wretched, abject and disgraceful finishing as Roma did earlier tonight against Madrid. You would think that being two down and having such amazing opportunities, that they would focus on putting them away. But my goodness, the finishing was worse than what you'd get at nursery level.

The biggest culprit has to be Salah. May seem a bit harsh to single out my Egyptian friend, but he could have been a hero for Roma. This could have been a match that could have gone down in memory as Roma's greatest every fightback against all odds. He had incredible chances to score at least two goals to tie things up, but he totally and compelely FUBARED his attempts.

I felt like breaking the television or hitting someone because it's just so frustrating when players can't even do the most basic of things. The big miss which everyone will be talking about was when Roma again had one of their counters with the left side being vacated by Marcelo who hadn't gotten back from his attacking holiday trip. After a few rebounds, the ball fell perfectly for Salah. With the Madrid defenders putting their hands up to signal for offside, and Navas being at a disadvantage based on the perfect positioning it was for Salah, this looked like a certain goal. Kids can do it, even your grandmum can as well. Just simply put the ball away in the bottom corner.

Nope....Salah somehow did the impossible and managed to put the ball out wide.

There were other culprits like Dzeko in the first half as well, but that Salah miss was the final straw and rightfully so, they got duly punished by Cristiano and James. And Roma have nothing to complain about. This is what happens in this level of football and quite frankly. any team that produced the kind of misses that Roma put on display deserve to lose and get extra punishment for crimes against this great game.

It could have all been different. If Roma had done some extra shooting practice or Batistuta along with Totti had taken some pills to make them younger, Roma may have turned this match around because as interesting as Madrid were in attack, they had so many problems and holes back in defense. Against a team who knew how to finish, Madrid would have lost that game by a few G's.

Roma...next time...please read the rules of the game and try to actually put the ball in the net. HH
