Laurent Blanc BEST Not Get Knocked out By Man City.
Blanc's judgement night is vast approaching. He is on the cusp of defeat, with his team in the losing position. This was a tie that favored them and was the perfect chance to get the star-studded and overpaid team into the semis. So for them to FUBAR it right now would make Blanc look like a complete loser, whilst making your boy HH be fully vindicated after all the insults I've thrown at him.
The only person that Blanc can blame for being in the position that he finds himself in right now is himself. He should have better studied City, stopped them from coming at them and causing problems but more importantly, he should have picked a team and formation that was more attacking with the intent of getting a healthy victory to take to the shores of Angleterre.
What he has now is a 2-2 draw and having to play at the Etihad knowing if they don't score the first goal, and that instead goes to City, they are almost as good as finished. From the very first whistle they have to chase the game, and get themselves back in it, and I'm not sure whether they can do so as this is not something they've been able to successfully do.
Against Chelsea both times, they won their first leg and with Barcelona, they were embarassed in both ties. So there's never been a time where they have managed to reverse things from a first leg loss. So the question is whether Blanc has the man-motivational skills to get his rich-boys to dig deep and show enough character to turn things around. Also, how are they going to approach this game knowing how City were able to counter them and exploit their defense. Would it really be wise to go full-on gung-ho?
I'm not in the hot seat, that's Blanc. Many people have given him more chances to live than a cat with two hearts. I've been calling his bluff for a long time but it's fallen on deaf ears. Now, if City, a team that nobody gave much of a chance to defeat PSG manage to knock them out, I wonder if people will finally concede and admit that Blanc isn't as good as people think he is. He's a man who got lucky enough to be given the keys to the fancy mansion, but has never really known how to maintain it and host the perfect house-parties that maximize it's potential.
Blanc... this is and should be your final chance to prove yourself. HH
