Mascherano trading tapas for pasta with Move to Juve, to be Midfielder
Can't we live in a world where a guy can just play in midfield without having to trouble anyone?
That's all that Mascherano wants to do. Because people forget, back when he and Tevez decide to take their talents to East London, Javier was known as a defensive midfielder. It's only once he came to Barcelona that Pep decided to use him as a central defender.
I didn't think it would work and thought he would get exposed. But he took to the role very well and it also helps when the team you play for has so much possession in each game. So you really don't have to do that much defending in a match. Especially against such talented sides like Granada and Elche.
Now Mascherano wants to start enjoying his football and is looking to Juventus to move back into his favored position, where he can see much more of the ball. He's never really looked like he enjoyed playing in defense and has never come out and proclaimed himself to be a defender.
All though circumstance.
I don't think Enrique needs to fight to keep him. He ought to be able to find a proper defender that can play alongside Pique, who isn't injured for an entire season.
Yes, Verminator, I am looking at you.
For Juventus, this would be a great signing. Would improve their midfield, adding grit, experience and personality to go with the flair of Pogba, Marchisio and Cuadrado. HH
