Sturridge Shows He is the Other Half to the Cannibal in Liverpool SMACKDOWN of Everton
I did not expect this. Everton did not play badly, they did not have one of those horror games where they just did not show up....they just showed they are missing what is needed to be TOP THREE team...KILLER APPS. The Cannibal may not have had his usual game, he scored though, but the one they forgot about called Sturridge was there to remind us that Liverpool ain't done in the title run yet.
Sturridge is a curious case because I don't really think he is a superstar player. He's just a really good player who is playing really well now. As far as ability, he's not on the same level as the Cannibal, but Sturridge is showing if the Cannibal does not get that hat-trick or double g's, he is there to pick up the slack.
If he can keep up this way of playing and focus on being cold-blooded and stay fit....despite Liverpool's leaky defence, there is no reason why Liverpool can't have a late surge for the title. But they will NOT win it, trust me on that. Now, if we are talking about fourth place...this season has proven too many times that once you think a team is on a roll....they just shove it back in your face with an unexpected loss. Sturridge and the Cannibal may draw blanks in their next game like they did against Arsenal, or an injury could occur to one of them. Anything can happen.
But when you look at Sturridge's second goal, and how he put that away with perfect timing....it's something that other teams should fear. To have TWO hungry goalscoring strikers is a VERY dangerous proposition for ANYBODY out there. Let's see whether Liverpool can keep it tight at the back and do their bit as well......
