Madrid have sent out a very loud message. They are ready to take on Bayern if need be, and this DESTRUCTION which could have been a lot worse, shows that they ain't playing. While, surprise surprise, the focus was on Cristiano proving he is "the best in the world", my eyes were on Welsh kid who has shown why HE could be the KEY to Madrid getting themselves back at the top of Club football.
I keep telling guys, watch out for Madrid. They are the one team that have TWO BONA-FIDE goalscoring machines. One, needs the right pass and needs to be one-on-one with the keeper or have only the one defender to beat....the other, can take on three defenders and pop off a shot right in the bottom corner of the goal. BALE, is no joke and IF they can keep him fit and playing at his best, Madrid CAN BEAT ANY DAMN TEAM IN THIS TOURNAMENT INCLUDING PEP'S BAYERN. Why? Because Arsenal have shown how to hurt them, which plays very well to the direct attacking display that embarrassed Schalke in their own home. To be honest, it could really have been a lot worse....we could have seen seven or eight, but thankfully it was only...SIX.
What makes Bale so dangerous is the fact that he RUNS at people. He has the speed, he has that confidence, he has the control...but my goodness, can the boy SHOOT. We understand about Cristiano's accuracy with both feet which is amazing, but Bale is just so much more dangerous. He is a guy who is VERY hard to keep quiet. Because you have to remember that when he first came to Madrid, he wasn't fully fit. NOW, he is and NOW he is surrounded by good players AND one of the best coaches in world football right now. All the ingredients are there for Bale to be that missing attacking piece to make Madrid too much for teams to cope against. This is not me saying they are favorites because I don't just go off ONE match against a Schalke team that were having a laugh in the way they were playing. But just watch out for them, ESPECIALLY when Bale is looking this sharp.
