For Schalke to Have ANY Hope....Huntelaar will be NEEDED

Real Madrid are winning this match. Fact, fact, FACT. Their team is too good, they have the better players, they have the better coach. Unless something MAD happens, like the players eat Ancelotti's pasta that mistakenly went OFF....this is a foregone conclusion. BUT, if I am pressed to try and give Schalke a chance in this game....a certain forgotten Dutch marksman will HAVE to be at his best.

It's been a bit unfair that Huntelaar has never been given his chance in the Dutch team. When Van Persie flopped like a pair of flip-flops at the Euros...there was still no entry for Klaas to come in and offer something different for the team, which he does. If ever there was a stage and a time to FINALLY prove that he is a better option to RVP, then this is it...against the might of Madrid UNDER Ancelotti. If he can get some goals, play well and really cause havok in BOTH legs....then there is no reason why Van Gaal can ignore him. But the real conundrum is how Schalke can actually get Huntelaar in the game, because they will be putting their efforts in ensuring that he barely ever touches the ball.

This is always THE important season for all players, especially those on the fringes. The problem that Huntelaar has is the Bundesliga and questions of how competitive that league is in comparison to the more exposed Premiership, where RVP has reigned.
It's been an unfortunate draw for Schalke because Madrid ARE winning this game, and will probably win both ties. Schalke are just not good enough and not coached well enough to come up with a smart enough gameplan to surprise Madrid. But the ONE thing that Schalke have over Madrid is an actual striker. Benzema is a brick and until he actually remembers what the role of a striker is, he will forever be labelled a brick.
Schalke have to build their team and their attacks around how Huntelaar plays and must try and take the game to Madrid to an extent and CREATE space for Huntelaar to give off a shot or for Farfan to get in good wide positions and deliver GOOD DANGEROUS crosses, rather than wasteful anything crosses that could go anywhere. THAT is where I believe Schalke can do something, and it will all rest on how involved they can get their striker in this game.
