Bayern Ease Past Feeble Arsenal...but is there a Crack in the German Armor?

Another year, another knockout by Arsenal in FAR TOO early a stage in this competition. At least  they have a new familiar enemy in Bayern, as it got too boring with Barcelona. This was always going to be the outcome, but I think the thing that was so unfortunate was HOW MUCH Bayern controlled most of the game....MOST. But for that period when the Pod scored that goal and made Bayern fear, that was perhaps a small WEAKNESS in the team.

Bayern were in complete control of the game, and should have really been up by two goals in the first half. Arsenal did NOT have a shot on target or even came close to shooting during the second half. Bayern had a grip on the game and perhaps, Beckenbauer's BEEF with Guardiola was warranted if Bayern were more direct and more purposeful in how they attacked, maybe they would have put the game to bed earlier. Whatever the case, Arsenal WERE NOT troubling them at all.
When Bastian finally scored, it was inevitable. Sustaining that amount of pressure was going to tell one way or another. So Bayern fully deserved that and I EXPECTED them to really just put in another two to finally send Arsenal packing. BUT, as with the Champions League.....EXPECT WEIRD SHIT TO HAPPEN!

That was a foul. Yes, the push was slight and I myself would not have blown....but if fair is being fair, it was a foul. But my goodness, THAT finish by Podolski? And remember a similar thing happening when Robben scored in the first leg against Barcelona when they all thought it was a foul? PLAY TO THE WHISTLE!
But that was an incredible finish by the Pod who showed that he does know how to strike a ball MUCH better than Giroud. Oh, and I will not insult Giroud too much as I am sure he was not playing last night...lucky him.
From that goal, Arsenal had chances to score again and THAT was the time that Bayern were vulnerable as they began to doubt themselves, make mistakes and allow Arsenal to come back into the game and even control it for the FIRST time.

That was Arsenal's chance. They just did not have the belief, mentality, or the heart to really go all the way and do the job. In the end, Bayern kept their composure and were not in TOO much of a threat. But, it still lets one wonder what will happen when Bayern face TWO FAST wing/strikers who have INCREDIBLY accurate shooting and are very direct.....hmmmm........

PS Bayern's away kit is AMAZING!
