Don't take the STRIKER for Granted as Roma and Garcia have Found Out

So Juventus win their third scudetto. YES, you heard me right. Juventus have WON the league. It all started so brightly, for the first time in a few years, there being a true challenger to Juventus. But how long did Garcia really think he could survive an ENTIRE season without having a BONA-FIDE goalscorer in the team?

For a string of games where Roma were unbeaten, they were the best team in the league. Playing great passing football, with an attacking flair, they lightened up what was a VERY one-sided league.
The star of the show was Gervinho and he was at the heart of what made Roma win those games. BUT, did Garcia really believe that this setup with so much reliance on Gervinho would have lasted an ENTIRE SEASON? That is where Garcia failed. In January, he should have done all that he could to attain a striking talent or even two which I believe would have made this title race A LOT closer than it is. Sadly, Roma became predictable, Gervinho faded from his great form, and they just became a team with the pretty passing without any real bite and punch to finish it off.

This is only Garcia's first season and I am sure he has learned some things about how to compete in a HIGH LEAGUE....as Ligue 1 ain't the Serie A. He did A LOT of good this season and made Roma into a VERY good team that play excellent football. But why I like the Juventus mentality is because they play to WIN. At the end of the day, all I care about are those three points and getting that win. For all of Roma's great passing and movement, what they have been lacking is that ability to GET THAT GOAL and KILL OFF A GAME. Those are the hallmarks of ANY team that want to win something as tough and arduous as a league campaign.

In the summer, I hope and pray that Garcia gets this Roma team a striker. They deserve it. Strootman, Pjanic and Florenzi are young players with too much talent to ignore. Such midfielders DESERVE a great striker. I believe if they can get the right man that knows how to play in the Roma passing system, BUT HAS THAT TOUGHNESS TO GO IN ALONE SOLO AND SCORE A GOAL....Roma may have the tools to last the distance with Juventus.

Learn your lesson....
