When Will Rooney Finally Do Something of Worth for England?

So he is one of the highest earners in the world...and the dude has done...NOTHING. Zilch, zero. I cannot give you ONE truly great season for Rooney. I cannot give you ONE great tournament that Rooney has had. The one question that now remains is when, if ever, will Rooney actually do SOMETHING.

England face Denmark tonight...and I predict maybe a draw against Marshall Mathers and his people. I don't see England going very far and I will be surprised if they even make it out of their group. IF they are to have any sort of chance, they will need their best players to play well. England have only ONE truly top player who has the POTENTIAL to drive them forward. That is all Rooney has been...pure potential. Gerrard, Lampard and co are past it, irrelevant and cannot hack it at the world stage. Rooney is the only dude still at that age that can still rise to the occasion, if he can actually be bothered to do so.

Situations such as these call for managers to do some man-management. That is what Maradona tried to do with Messi four years ago, and that is what Scolari will be looking to do with Neymar this summer.
  Erm, to be perfectly honest....I just don't think Hodgson has that quality in his cabinet. As opposed to Redknapp who you KNOW has the ability to talk to players and really get the best out of them, Hodgson just is a bit too old-skool and traditional to actually know how to be dynamic enough and say the right things and DO the right things to get the best out of someone like Rooney.


It all rests on Wayne. But does he care? If you are earning that stupid amount EVERY FUCKING WEEK, do you actually really care about the World Cup? No...that is the answer.
