There was simply an inevitability of Barcelona winning. What I feared came to fruition; the attacking trio from South America were just far too good for Juventus. Not that Allegri did not know this and didn't plan for this, but defensively, Juventus are not a team I would put as an elite team at the back. Which is one of the unfortunate things of this season, that such an amazing attacking Barcelona team were not properly tested. Because as we all saw after that PSG game at the Nou Camp, there was no way that Barcelona could be outscored in a wild west style match.
Despite my hang-ups, you have to give it up for Barcelona. They amount of G's they shifted, and the ease with which they pimp-slapped all in their way is something you have to applaud. Even in a final, I have not seen such a lopsided match in terms of quality. When Messi collected the ball and ran into the heart of Juve's defence, I just shook my head and feared a goal coming. Bonnucci and Barzagli are good defenders but they are not on the level of Cannavarro, Nesta, Maldini or Desailly. Their positional sense and tackle-timing is just not of a high enough standard to cope with Neymar and Messi.
The amount of times there was confusion in Juve's defence and how they had to make last-ditch defensive moves to avoid a G, was alarming. So forget the scoreline, Barcelona beatdown Juventus on a footballing level. They deserve to be champions and you really need to look at where this team ranks in history. I personally prefer the Ronaldinho and Rivaldo teams but the way this Barcelona team has attacked has been off the chain, and the execution and interplay is something not seen fora very long time.
In conclusion my friends, well done to Barcelona, and they have had a superb season that supercedes what Pep did in his treble season. But one must wonder, would they have beaten a quality defensive team with a lethal counter attack so easily? Because Real Madrid are a great counter attacking team and not really what you would call a superb defensive team, but they were the only team that gave Barcelona the hardest game.
Something to think on....
