Chile won't find Uruguay easy

Tonight is where the quest for glory starts to get real and tougher for Chile. Uruguay are not going to lie down and take a beating, so for Chile to win, they will need to raise that game TENFOLD. And every man has to be willing to sacrifice his guts for the cause.

I'm hearing some people claim this will be an easy routine victory for Chile. Well, that's when you get swept up in the hype, and don't actually study the performances carefully of both teams. If they did, then they would know Uruguay has one of the best defenders in the world and a backline that is very hard to score against. So as amazing as Chile may be in attack, they will be playing much better opposition than they went up against in the groups.

Let's be real. A second string Mexico, an Ecuador with no Valencia, and Bolivia who are only good on their home patch. All these teams don't have the quality and rugged nature of Uruguay, who will go out to make it an ugly dogfight and stop Chile from enjoying their football. So the real question is whether Chile are ready to get themselves in a fight as Argentina had to do to get their win.

I expect a close game, and for Sampaoli to have to really come with a varied attacking pattern that will have to use the flanks to stretch Uruguay out who will keep it as congested as the Tokyo streets in the morning right in the middle. That is where Alexis and Isla will need to work those wings and really try and have an effect on the match because ain't nothing gonna happen in the middle with Uruguay, who are the most physical and toughest team in the Copa.

Don't be quick to assume. Chile should win as they are a much better football team. But how many people remember 2004? Aristotle? Plato? Zeus? Who would have thought they would even dream or flirt with a semi-final, let alone win the whole thing. Football is football and the biggest mistake to make is assuming the better football team will win.
