Erm. Di Maria just moved to Man United. How the hell is he already moving to PSG after only ONE season?! Is this the cool new trend now? You stay for a few matches and then you bounce?
YES, I am not backing away or forgetting about what I said. I voted for Di Maria to be my player of the season in the Premiership. This was the crucial cog that lead Madrid to Champions League victory. So bearing that in mind, I just had a belief he would rip up the Premiership, because so many Liga players have translated so well when they have moved. Mata, Silva and so on.
Di Maria has talked of his personal problems that he had, so that may have added to how his season fell apart and it never clicked. But my goodness, it happens. For him to just now say United and Van Gaal should screw themselves after just one season is pretty deep.
And with PSG. Yes, he will make them better. But so would Ibra, Lucas, Lavezzi and Pastore. You could put all the talent in the world in PSG and as long as Blanc is in charge, they are not going to do anything at all of note. Di Maria moving there won't change much, but if it's between Paris cold ass Manchester...give me those croissants all day long with a slice of Disneyland.
I can't say if this will help Di Maria to be better. Pastore definitely has improved while Lucas has regressed, which is a loss for Brazilian football. But the bigger issue is how players are coming and leaving from clubs in far too short a time.
Wasn't Di Maria a world record signing?
