He refuses to quit, or wane or wither away with old age.
Last season, in some matches, Totti showed the kind of class that made him at a point, one of the hottest players in the world. I would not put him in the same class as Baggio, Zola or Pirlo....but quality is quality and Totti has it.
The worrying thing is at Totti's age, he was one of Roma's best players. Garcia has decided that strikers are overrated, and so his Roma team are very top heavy in midfield, which means Totti has been allowed to really flourish and be more influential.
The goal he scored against City in the Champions League, was proof that he still has a bit to give Roma. It's the beauty of football and of players like Maradona and Pirlo and Okocha. You don't need explosiveness or speed to be good. It's all psychological and being two steps ahead of your opponent which is the football Totti is playing now.
Age is age, and Totti can't keep up with these young ones for ninety minutes. Garcia will have to look at his fitness level and may need to use him as an impact player or even a secondary striker behind maybe Dzeko if they can get him. Francesco can still do things to make Roma win games and his touch hasn't left him. Garcia just needs to surround Roma's legend with younger, dangerous players who can feed off and benefit of the clever touches and vision that Totti can offer them.
