Erm...WHY announce Pep to Man City now?!

I don't know if this is true. People write so much crap these days, I don't even know what to believe. But I'll play the game and assume that this quite preposterous news is actually true.

SO.....

Pellegrini is the manager of City. I am sure he plans to take the team into the future with how he is integrating the young blood like Kelechi and others. So in his mind, he is think three or four years ahead. With news of Pep already agreeing a contract, how the HELL will he begin to operate?

There are issues with doing this. It's one thing to do a Klopp thang, and announce a sabbatical at the end of the forthcoming season, but to say you have agreed to join another team before this season is out will have an adverse effect in the changing room in TWO ways.

The first is how the current players will feel. Bart Simpson, Muller, Neuer and all the regulars. Yeah, I get it was a three year contract, but to already have picked your next destination is a bit of an insult to them. It's saying that you're not really all about the Bayern ethos and mission, it's about getting yours. It also adds to the issues people like Muller may have had with Pep in trying to change the winning Heynckes formula.

The other reason are for those players like Gotze, Thiago and Alonso. Brought in by Pep and assumed they would have at least five seasons with him, it would be a slight backhand slap to see that he has already made plans to jet off before the season has kicked off. They will now be thinking of who will come in and replace Pep because the only reason they signed in the first place was to play under "the best coach in the world."

Yeah...

It's wrong and dumb to do it this way. This is all playing into the assumption that it is true. It is bad practice to already have picked your next club before you've officially finished the job with this one. And it goes with the theme of modern football.

Lack of respect of the World Cup

Foetuses costing over forty mill

The loaning and player ownership system getting bastardized

And now you have a coach who can sign on to coach another club BEFORE the season has started with his current one.

Shouldn't happen with players and it should not happen with managers. UEFA and FIFA, get off your lazy, unkempt, grey-haired asses and actually maybe....I don't know...do your freaking job?!!
