Sterling can only go downhill in RIDICULOUS transfer to City

Fiddy mill! Two hundred thou a week.

Let that sink in.

50 MILLION!!!!! TWO HUNDRED THOU A WEEK?! What the FUDGE?!!!!!

But love this transfer. As dumb and insulting as it is...it proves my point of where club football is heading. The biggest loser in all of this, is the steam Raheem whose shoulders and skill is not of a level to even come close to justifying that price tag. It can only end in him not ever fulfilling his potential....which does NOT include being one of the best players in the world. HELL no!

Man City have a billionaire, and what he really wants he ends up getting. Respect the dollar as they say. And, sadly, this is the very crux of how football operates now in the modern football world. The valuations make no sense whatsoever, and maybe soon you will be seeing Juventus buy Lambert for sixty million because of his un-tapped "potential".

Focusing on Sterling. He wanted that money. Maybe a small part is winning trophies which he will have a much better chance of having than at Liverpool, but when you look at the amount of cheddar he will be making each week, you just have to shake your head and wonder what the world has come to where a 20 year old can earn that insane amount. And this could be a slippery slope. It's only going to get worse with more oil-rich owners wanting to dip into this exciting world of "who can bid more for some unproven rock from Scunthorpe."

It is a good signing. Sterling IS a good and very effective player. A better version of Walcott and someone that can give City a really good threat on the wide. Not as good as Navas during his prime, but removes the pressure off of Toure and Silva's shoulder with regards to attacking threats.

But....

Sterling won't develop. He won't get better, and in two or three seasons, he may be transferred to Spurs or Stoke because of lack of football....that's if his love for the game exceeds the money he earns. But hey, I don't know Raheem and can't assume that he only moved for the money. It's not like Gotze and Lewandowski leaving high-flying Dortmund. I just fear that the furore and media party that will surround him next season will adversely affect his football...and that away match at Liverpool....
