Only THIRD trophy ever for Wolfsburg with Marshall Bendtner Mathers somehow...DELIVERING

Since 2009, Wolfburg have won three trophies. Aaaaaand....those are the only titles they have attained in their entire history. To thank for two of those awards is the very German dude known as Hecking.

Not always do you have the fairytale story of if you play sexy booty football, then you get rewarded with trophies. Especially when your team is not THAT good in regards to the quality of players you have. Ain't saying that Hecking has had to deal with a bunch of Bricks, because Wolfsburg have some very nice players. But they are not on the level of Bayern and Dortmund may have more talented footballers man-for-man. However, this is football and Hecking has shown that there needs to be a marriage between talent and strategy in order to yield success.

And you have to commend him for what he's done with Marshall Mathers. This was a guy who was wasting his career away. Someone that believes he's a lord (a trip to two shrinks needed) but was not really putting that work in. It was amazing to see him get the winning goal which was created by De fucking Bruyyyyyyne, and then the penalty to deliver the goods to the wolves. I for one won't put down one kobo on him revitalising his career and becoming one of the best strikers in the world as he believes. But, it's nice little redemption tale.

I don't know what Wolfsburg can do next season. To be as real as three cats, you need talent. You can use the best possible coaching, but without players that can beat three dudes or put in a great cross or be a great wall of China at the back, it will be hard to win a trophy every season. The key aspect seems to be getting a really good striker who is in sync with the team and can also create their own goals, which isn't something Dost or Marshall Mathers can do.

They will be a team to watch. Winning the league with the behemoth that is Bayern is out of the question. Going far in the Champions League is not realistic....but, again, you look at Atletico's run. IF Wolfsburg can somehow find someone like a Diego Costa who is a natural goalscorer, and work well with De Bruyne; they have a team that if given a lucky draw and beatable knockout components, then who the Hecking knows what they could do? Because they are good enough when on their day to stand toe-to-toe against any team out there....if they are on their game.
