Man United Should Go For Bale, rather than Neymar
Now, this is a more realistic target. Especially with the developments that have been had at the circus that is the Bernabeu. Despite the insane amount of money that Bale was bought for, Man United have a much better chance of getting the Welsh firestarter than Neymar.
People are still divided over whether Bale has been an overall success or failure at Madrid. But this season so far, he's not been that good. Hardly consistently providing for Madrid and has been a shadow of that amazing debut season. With Zidane taking over and obviously wanting to make some changes, this would be an opportunity for United to step in.
Their chances may be slim because Zizou would want to keep the core of the team, and even try his hand at getting the best out of Madrid's most prized asset. Nobody knows. Zidane may like Bale's football or he may see him as a detriment to the team, whereas Isco would be better suited. If I was to guess, I don't think Zidane would be a fan of Bale's style of play and would want a higher standard of football in the team with more technique and skill.
United also have to keep in mind that Bale has played in the Premiership before. He knows the league, and how it works. The way in which he plays is perfectly suited to it, and with his speed and ability to pop off a shot from anywhere, it makes United more dangerous and relieves the pressure off of Martial. Neymar is someone who I think can be great anywhere, but you just never know how he will cope with the intensity of the Premier League.
Also, Depay has been a dud this season. I won't give up on him but this is a year he needs to write off. United need an attacking winger and a threat from the flank to allow Martial to move into the middle. That is what Bale can provide and more, as he can play anywhere on the pitch.
It's the move to make. Forget trying to get Neymar because you're not going to buy a player who is happy at the Nou Camp playing with Messi. But with how Madrid buy and sell players for fun with no sense of loyalty to them, United have a chance with the right offer. If they pull it off, that is a signing that would have a serious impact on the title race.
