Rooney and the turbulent affair with United

Will he? Won't he? That's the same annoying sounds we keep hearing. There does not seem to be any definitive voice that has laid down the law to decide whether or not Rooney will be staying or going.

The seeds had been planted.

They got laid deep in the soil when he handed in that first transfer request. From that point on, Ferguson offered him no way back. He was no longer United's Golden Boy. All the focus was on Van Persie and to add further insult, the much younger Welbeck was preferred. From that point, Rooney knew he had to JET

So we now come to the new command of Moyes. I believe Moyes's comments about Rooney being an important back-up could be translated as, you ain't a star under me...either. This is why I ask, why the heck is Rooney lingering? Why has he not come out and said he wants to go?

Just like Suarez at Liverpool, I cannot fathom a scenario where Rooney remains at United.

As a coach, I am not having a player who is mentally not part of the effort. No matter how good a player is, the psyche is JUST AS important as the talent.

I can understand Moyes not wanting Rooney to go to Chelsea and I will be shocked if that were to happen. The thought just came to me now of a potential forward triangle of Cristiano, Bale and Rooney....damn.

But yes, selling to your main title rivals is madness. But Moyes needs that weight taken off United's collar and they need that cash to bring in a powerful midfielder.....did someone say Luis...Gustavo?!
