As Milan head for battle against Napoli....is too much weight on Balotelli's Shoulders?

So Milan will now really be tested tonight against a very good Napoli team. I believe they will get beat tonight, but I want to look closely at the problem of Milan and especially, looking at their star man. Because I had believed before the season started that Milan could really be the main threat to Juventus with Cavani leaving Napoli and Fiorentina being an unknown force. Well....that's changed....

Watching the games I have seen from Milan, I find it quite shocking, sad and just ridiculous how much Balotelli has to do. You have a striker who is having to, CREATE, PASS, GALVANIZE and be the driving force of the entire team. Without a player in the hole who can be a creative force, Balotelli is having to drop back and thread balls that should be  given to him. He is a player that should be sitting in the box and finishing off quality balls given to him. But, Milan decided to sit back and munch on some Milanese pasta and wine in the summer and not go out and try and get an Eriksen or even a Diego kind of player.

The thing is they DO have that player, and his name is Robinho. Unfortunately, he is a man without passion and it shows on the pitch. Whatever is going wrong with him, it is the job of Allegri to either get the best out of him, or ship him out immediately. It must either be one or the other. And yes, then there was the whole fiesta of bringing the great Kaka back....and we all know how that turned out in the end. Okay, fine, it's not really the end yet but from what I have seen....the once superb player has lost his legs. He just ain't the same no more.

Back to Balotelli. Milan have THE best striker in Serie A without a doubt. You have a man that can score a 40 yarder with a one-step run up. You have a guy that can score headers, tap-ins, volleys...and he is yet to miss a penalty. Milan have a crucial piece in dethroning their rivals, Juventus, but without the right players surrounding Balotelli...what the HELL is the point?!

I have always liked for Montolivio to involve into a more attacking and creative player and allow De Jong and Poli to hold the central midfield area. But he seems to prefer to sit back, however, it all goes back to Allegri and him seeing the talent in Riccardo and giving him the confidence to be a more attacking and penetrative player.

We will see what happens tonight. Balotelli could do something amazing and pull out some magic. Or he could just have flash of insanity and be sent off. Whatever the case, there are issues at Milan that need solving and I just ask what the point is of getting a star striker...if you can't maximize his qualities?
