Eto'o back with Mourinho....but can it work?

There was a point, when Eto'o was at Inter under Leonardo...and I called him the greatest finisher in the 18-yard box IN THE WORLD. If Eto'o had remained at Inter with Milito, there is NO WAY they are finishing ninth. But, my dear friend from Cameroon had other plans and wanted to chase that big money move to Russia. Don't believe what he says, HE WENT FOR THE CA$H.

With Anzhi now being defunct, Eto'o has been forced to leave and has now been reunited with his old ally, Mourinho. It was under the great Portuguese that he won the treble, but I don't think he was happy being played on the wing for that campaign. Despite that, Mourinho got the best out of Eto'o, and we all remember that crucial goal he scored...at the Bridge to knock out Chelsea.

Chelsea do need a striker. Blondie aka Torres has lost it, I have given up all hope on him. Ba is a player who I believe has the chops, but I am not sure he can take the pressure in Champions League games. With Eto'o he is a TWO-TIME Champions League winner having scored in a final with Barcelona. I don't really rate experience that highly, but it helps as well as having the eye for goal that Eto'o has.

He will need time to readjust. The standard in the Russian league is a lot lower than in the Premiership and this is a league that Eto'o has never played in. I am not sure how well it can work, but despite my views on Eto'o the man, he is still an excellent finisher. Cameroon just do not have the creative forces to give him the chances he needs. With Hazard, Schurrle and Oscar, Eto'o WILL get chances, and I am confident he will put most of them away, given time to get used to the speed of the Premiership.
