Puyol returning for Barcelona....

The destruction of all destructions that poor Barcelona were given at the hands of Bayern was due to a very bad defence. It's an area that Cristiano and Mourinho exploited too often in their matches. Now though, after what seems to be CENTURIES...Spain's best defender is now back in the fold.

Barcelona are in serious need of a leader in defence. Pique is now proving to be a bit of a liability and last I checked....MASCHERANO PLAYS IN MIDFIELD. With the return of Puyol, not only do Barcelona get a proper defender...but also someone to lead and command the backline and make sure everyone understands their duties.

He will need a few games to get back in the flow and age is not on his side. The thing though, with Martino who is more robust in his approach, I believe it will bode well for Barcelona. I think they still need a Thiago Silva back there who has the skill and freshness of the centre-back position. However, don't discount the psychological boost it will give Barcelona to give their true captain back. ESPECIALLY, in those tight games, Puyol's shouting and passion will help the team to rise for the occasion and get the job done.
